Tiago is the viticulturist and winemaker behind Uivo wines and Folias de Baco, a renowned winery he founded in 2007 in Douro Valley.

Grandson of grape growers, Tiago's passion for wine and viticulture blossomed at a young age as he explored the vineyards alongside his grandfather, absorbing knowledge and embracing the art of winemaking with boundless curiosity and determination.

It was this incurable fascination that led him into agricultural studies, starting in Santo Tirso and culminating in a five-year university program in Vila Real, laid the groundwork for his pursuit of excellence. The pinnacle of his academic pursuits was a transformative experience in the Oregon State University, where he delved into the world of Viticulture and Enology, during is PHD, embracing modern philosophies and winemaking aesthetics while honouring the timeless traditions of the Douro Valley.
